皆さん、あけましておめでとうございます！
お正月はいかがお過ごしだったでしょうか。
元旦の「何もかもが静まり返った空気」から三が日が過ぎると、身の回りが「ゆったりとした空気」に包まれます。
そして、全国的には三が日が過ぎると一気に日常モードへと切り替わりますが、ここ沖縄の空気感は、どこか独特の「ゆったり感」がまだ漂っているような気がします。
沖縄の正月といえば、本土のようなキンと冷え切った冬の朝とは少し違います。
もちろん風が吹けば冷えますが、少しばかり用心しすぎて着込みすぎてしまうと、日差しが出れば汗ばんでしまう日もあります。
この三が日が明けた後の「お正月ムードが少し落ち着き、でもまだ冬休みが続いているような雰囲気」が最高です。
しかし、天気は別！
本土での「真冬」のような寒さがようやく訪れるので、このシーズンに沖縄を観光する人に少しばかり注意事項を……。
ヒートテックとダウンジャケットは必須！
いくら沖縄でも、個のブログが発表される時期は「1月、あなどれん……！」となりますよ。
地元の人々も、冬はダウンジャケットで身を固めます。
信じられない？
いえ、本当です。
また、沖縄では旧正月（旧暦の正月）を大切にする地域も多いため、実は私たちの「正月気分」はまだ終わりません。
2月の「旧正月」に向けて、また少しずつエネルギーを貯めていく……そんな、焦らない時間の流れが沖縄らしくて心地よいのです。
皆さんも、三が日の慌ただしさが一段落した今、改めて深呼吸をして、新しい一年の歩みを始めてみませんか？
沖縄の空のように、皆さんの2026年が晴れやかで自由なものであることを、心から願っております。

Hello from the Chatan office!
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
There’s something special about how the atmosphere shifts from the “complete stillness” of New Year’s Day to a more “laid-back vibe” once the first three days (Sanganichi) pass.
While the rest of Japan usually flips the switch back to “everyday mode” right after the 3rd, here in Okinawa, that unique, relaxed feeling still lingers in the air.
New Year’s in Okinawa isn’t quite like the crisp, freezing winter mornings you find on the mainland.
Sure, the wind can be chilly, but if you overdress out of caution, you might find yourself sweating the moment the sun peeks out!
I personally love this specific time—when the initial New Year’s rush has settled down, but it still feels like the winter break is quietly continuing.
However, the weather is a different story!
The “real” winter cold (by mainland standards) is finally arriving, so for those of you planning to visit Okinawa soon, here’s a little heads-up…
Heat tech and down jackets are a must!
Even though it’s Okinawa, by the time this blog post goes up, you’ll be thinking, “Okay, January is no joke!” Residents bundle up in heavy down jackets too. Hard to believe? Trust me, it’s true!
Also, since many areas in Okinawa still deeply cherish the Lunar New Year, our “holiday spirit” hasn’t ended yet. We’re slowly gathering energy again as we head toward the Lunar New Year in February.
That unhurried pace of time feels so “Okinawa-like” and comfortable.
Now that the busyness of the first few days of the year has calmed down, why not take a deep breath and start your journey into the new year?
I truly hope your 2025 is as bright and free as the Okinawan sky.
